How was a company like DeepMind created?

→ In 2010, a genius scientist named Demis Hassabis founded the company.

  • Hassabis, born in 1976, is a British AI researcher, computer scientist, neuroscientist, and gamer.
  • He became a chess master at the age of 13 and started developing games at 17.
  • Between the ages of 17 and his university entrance, he took a gap year working at a game company to fund his education.
  • In 1997, at the age of 21, he graduated from Cambridge University.
  • After graduation, he worked as the lead AI programmer at a game company called Lionhead.
  • In 1998, he founded a video game development company called Elixir Studios, retiring in 2005.
  • In 2009, he earned a PhD in cognitive neuroscience from UCL and served as a visiting scientist at MIT. → His early research focused on imagination, memory, and amnesia.
  • In 2010, he founded the machine learning startup DeepMind.

Why did Google acquire DeepMind?
